WHAT IS COMMUNITY RISK REDUCTION?

Community Risk Reduction (CRR) is a proactive approach aimed at identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks within a community to enhance safety and reduce the likelihood of emergencies. CRR involves a comprehensive strategy that focuses on prevention, preparedness, and intervention, tailoring solutions to the specific needs and vulnerabilities of a community.

Jasper County Fire-Rescue is a four-year Fire Safe South Carolina designee.

The goals and objectives of Fire Safe South Carolina is to provide consistent fire prevention messages, improving data collection therefore identifying risks and creating programs to target the risks.

The Community Risk Reduction Division is dedicated to safeguarding lives and property by implementing proactive measures to prevent fires and minimize risks. Our team is committed to educating the community about fire safety, conducting fire and life safety inspections, and performing fire investigations. We offer resources and training programs for residents, businesses, and organizations to ensure everyone is equipped with the knowledge to prevent fires and respond effectively in emergencies.

Smoke Alarm Blitz 2/21/26

A total of 274 smoke alarms installed.

Jasper County Fire Rescue conducted a Smoke Alarm Blitz to the community of Midway Circle Mobile Home park and Okatie & Okatie Park Circle. The focus of this was to install smoke alarms and educate residents about fire safety, EXIT drills in the home, Electrical Hazards. Jasper County was supported by State Fire Community Risk Reduction Division. To include the Red Cross, Bluffton Fire Department and The State Fire Marshal Chief Jonathan Jones. Thank you to Dunkin Donuts for the coffee and donuts.

Special support was provided by the the men and ladies of Okatie Baptist Church for donating the venue, as well as breakfast and lunch.
